#106: WAY More Positive Interactions Than Negative = Connection With Your Teen

106

This is the 2nd episode in a series on connecting with your teen.
First episode in the series #104

If the relationship with your teen or tween is suffering, I want you to consider something. How close would you feel to someone who you believe treats you like a child, constantly reminds you to do things you already know to do, complains about every tiny infraction, and makes no attempt to understand the stress you're under?

Well, that's likely how your teenager feels pretty regularly about you. Their brain perceives so many things as negative (even when neutral!)

Reminders, questions, corrections, statements, a tone of voice, a facial expression, all can be very negatively interpreted by your teenager (even if you don't really intend it that way.)

You've got some work to do to maintain your connection with them. Let's get to it.
